The Cleanie Awards Honors Mona Dajani of Pillsbury Law in 2020 Woman of the Year Category

Mona Dajani of Pillsbury Law has been recognized as one of the leading voices in the cleantech industry by the annual Cleanie Awards in the Woman of the Year category.

The Cleanie Awards is the leading awards program exclusive to the cleantech industry. The program recognizes innovation excellence, business leadership, and superior outreach campaigns. Individuals and organizations across many facets of the industry submitted nominations.

This recognition further demonstrates why Mona Dajani is one of the world's leading energy and infrastructure lawyers. Just this year she helped lock down billions of dollars for three major energy and infrastructure deals, including representing CMS Enterprises on the purchase of a majority stake in Aviator Wind - a 525-megawatt wind energy project in Texas that will support efforts by Facebook and McDonald's to achieve their clean energy goals.

Mona heads up Pillbury's global renewable energy practice where she offers strategic, commercial and legal advice where she is an expert on structuring, financings, M&A, equity raising, investment, e-mobility and related matters for energy and infrastructure clients including private equity and infrastructure funds, institutional investors, oil and gas majors, banks, utilities, IPPs and governments in the U.S. and around the world. Under her leadership, together at Pillsbury and at her prior firm, her renewable energy group has closed more than 585 renewable energy transactions for billions in capital and has personally advised on over 15GW of renewable energy projects around the world. Mona has consistently captured every top ranking presented to lawyers and law firms in the industry. She was recently named MVP for Project Finance in 2020 by Law360, and to A Word About Wind's prestigious Top 100 Legal Power List for a third consecutive year. She was re-elected this year to the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) Board of Directors.

"We are extremely proud to recognize this year's movers and shakers, who truly inspire others in the broader cleantech community," said Randee Gilmore, executive director, The Cleanie Awards. "We saw a double-digit increase in the number of submissions, which is incredible given the challenging times with the global pandemic. This shows how much the industry needs a recognition program like this, and our potential to continue growing year over year."

Mona won the honorable mention in the Woman of the Year category and was one of two women recognized. She was selected by a cohort of judges and clean industry leaders representing a cross section of the cleantech and renewable energy sectors, including Ayanna Nibbs, CohnReznick Capital; Chris Taylor, Google; Thiam B. Giam, Black & Veatch Management Consulting; Chris Vlahoplus, ScottMadden; Gil Jenkins, Hannon Armstrong; Zadie Oleksiw, Clearway Energy Group; and Ron DiFelice, Energy Intelligence Partners (EIP).
