American Wire Group Launches New Technology & Innovation Division

American Wire Group (AWG) announced the creation of the Technology & Innovation department. This new division’s mission is to support our customers in the implementation of new technologies within the energy and infrastructure markets.

The key initiative for the Technology & Innovation team is to improve the speed of deployment and reduce installation costs for the electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure buildout, which is part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). This Act includes $7.5 billion for the installation of 500,000 EV chargers by 2030.

Maria DlagnekovaWith the launch of this division, we are pleased to announce that Maria Dlagnekova has been promoted to the role of Chief Technology Officer. In her past seven years with AWG, Maria supported our customers, supply chain, operations and executive teams with her leadership, technical service, and vision. Her new role will further leverage a 40-year career in power systems engineering, construction and operations throughout organizations in Europe, South Africa and North America. Maria will lead this division and work with new and existing customers to implement these new technologies.

Benjamin Spiro has also joined the Technology & Innovation team to serve in the BusinBenjamin Spiroess Development role. Benjamin will advance AWG’s initiative in the rapidly growing EV segment and the integration of renewables and associated infrastructure deployment. He joins the team with a strong knowledge of the financial landscape with over two decades covering global institutional relationships. Benjamin’s keen understanding of the financial models across industry segments, including electricity markets, will provide customers with access to a talented professional that not only speaks the language of project management and development, but also the financial targets required to make the EV projects successful.
