Arevia Power Opens Las Vegas Office, Announce Five New Senior Hires
To support its expanding and aggressive portfolio of solar and wind projects across the United States, Arevia Power announced a series of five new senior hires and the opening of a full-service office in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joining Arevia's team as SVP of External Relations will be former Nevada State Senator Chris Brooks, with Rafik Albert as SVP of Lands & Permitting, Tim Derrick as Strategic Advisor, Roger Halbakken as Senior Director of Portfolio Analytics and Origination, and Cameron Pavluk as Director of Development.
Arevia Managing Partner Ricardo Graf said "Arevia Power has strategically put together one of the largest and most expansive renewables project portfolios in the Western U.S.. Combining this team, with its over 60 years of experience in regulatory policy, permitting, transmission planning, and community relations with Arevia's history of developing large and differentiated projects such as the Gemini Solar Project in Southern Nevada will set this company on a trajectory to deliver something unique to communities, customers and utilities alike. This is great news for the Administration's renewable energy goals and a huge boost for the future of renewables in the West."
Earlier this year, Arevia Power made history by announcing they are the first renewables developer to commit to a national Responsible Contractor Policy (RCP) as a part of their development funding which requires and promotes union labor on every renewable energy project Arevia develops.
Chris Brooks, a longtime IBEW member and contractor known widely for his advocacy for renewables in the Nevada legislature, said "I first began my career as an apprentice line-worker over 30 years ago. Joining a group as dedicated as Arevia is to not only building the clean energy future we need but doing it the right way, in partnership with organized labor and local communities is incredibly exciting."
With an aggressive pipeline of planned projects underway in Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming, Arevia Power intends to set a new standard for community-first development of critical renewable resources in the region. Working with landowners, conservation groups, tribal stakeholders and state and federal regulators, Arevia builds true long-term partnerships to develop utility-scale projects while respecting the cultural and environmental heritage of the West.
