American Textile Maintenance Projects 64% Cost Savings, Commits to Evolectric's CircularEV Fleet After Pilot
American Textile Maintenance — parent company of Republic Master Chefs and Medico Professional Linen Service — has committed to purchasing 12 CircularEV Class 5 electric trucks from Evolectric, beginning with an initial delivery of five units. The decision follows a successful 8-day pilot at the company's South-Central Los Angeles facility, where the retrofitted trucks demonstrated a 64% reduction in operating costs, driven by lower energy consumption and reduced maintenance needs.
Compared to the cost of acquiring similar brand-new electric trucks, the CircularEV solution is delivering nearly $80,000 in savings per vehicle, totaling close to $1 millionin projected capital expenditure savings across the 12-truck fleet.
This marks American Textile's first electric fleet deployment. The milestone comes after the company placed orders for new EV trucks from other manufacturers as early as 2022. Due to ongoing delays from those OEMs, none of the previously ordered units have been delivered. Evolectric, by contrast, delivered its first CircularEV truck ahead of all others, becoming the first to help American Textile officially electrify its fleet. The remaining Evolectric units are scheduled for delivery over the next eight weeks.
"At American Textile Maintenance, our mission is to safely and sustainably deliver industry-leading services by combining exceptional customer care with high-quality, innovative products," said Brad Shames, President of American Textile Maintenance. "Adding electric vehicles to our fleet enhances our commitment to sustainability and service excellence, helping us better serve the streets of beautiful Los Angeles and beyond."
To support the transition, American Textile is also investing in fast-charging infrastructure across multiple locations, laying the foundation for continued fleet electrification in the coming years. In partnership with Chargie, a leading provider of intelligent EV charging solutions, and with support from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the company has deployed seven 50kW fast chargers onsite to ensure efficient and reliable charging for its electric fleet.
CircularEV is Evolectric's proprietary retrofit solution that converts existing commercial trucks into fully electric, smart-enabled vehicles. By reusing core vehicle structures and outfitting them with new EV drivetrains and components, Evolectric enables fleets to transition to zero emissions while reducing capital expenditures by up to 45% compared to purchasing new EVs.
"This decision highlights what we're hearing from more and more forward-thinking fleet operators," said Jakson Alvarez, Co-Founder of Evolectric. "With CircularEV, electrification is no longer just an environmental goal. It's a smart financial strategy with immediate bottom-line impact."
Evolectric's solution empowers companies to reduce emissions, stabilize operating costs, extend vehicle lifespans, and transition to electric fleets without the disruption of a full replacement. Evolectric's strategy centers on scaling through a certified network of existing service centers, upfitters, and dealers who can perform high-quality installations and ongoing service at locations near fleet operations. This decentralized model enables rapid, cost-effective deployment while empowering local businesses to participate in the growing green economy.
