EVPassport Announces Opening of East Coast Headquarters in Boston and Key Executive Appointments Amidst Rapid Growth
EVPassport, the most reliable EV charging network in the United States, announced the opening of its East Coast headquarters in Boston and three key executive appointments that will fuel the growth of its end-to-end electric vehicle charging platform. Liz Howard has been appointed Chief Financial Officer; John Gilbrook has been named Senior Vice President, North American Sales; and Brian McKinnon has joined as Vice President of Channel Partnerships and Alliances. These strategic executive additions will operate out of EVPassport’s Boston office and fuel its commitment to driving incremental value and long-term customer relationships.
The opening of EVPassport’s new East Coast headquarters marks the start of a symbiotic relationship between Boston, the standard bearer for affordable EV charging infrastructure adoption across the U.S., and the nation’s most reliable EV charging network. The Boston office will house product, sales, engineering and additional corporate functions. The company currently has offices in Santa Monica, California and Barcelona, Spain.
“Boston is proudly home to some of our country’s leading innovators and creators who are working toward building a more sustainable future,” said Mayor Michelle Wu. “With the need to grow electric vehicle charging access in our City, we are excited to have EVPassport’s new headquarters in the City so we can continue Boston’s leadership in ClimateTech and also expand our network of electric vehicle charging stations across every neighborhood.”
Electric vehicle adoption in the City of Boston continues to rise at a rapid pace and the need for reliable and equitable chargers has never been greater. According to the Massachusetts Vehicle Census, the number of EVs registered in Boston has grown by more than 650% since 2020 and now exceeds 7,000 vehicles. Under the direction of Mayor Wu, Boston has addressed outstanding EV policy needs, implemented programs that foster public and private sector collaboration, and set ambitious goals of having every resident live within a five-minute walk of an EV charging station.
“Boston is a thriving hub for technology innovation, talent, and high-growth startups, and alongside our East Coast headquarters, is emerging as the nation’s preeminent home for leading mobility companies, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and thought leaders to advance sustainable transportation solutions,” said Hooman Shahidi, Co-Founder and CEO of EVPassport. “We are thrilled to put down roots in this ecosystem with three local industry leaders to support and accelerate EVPassport's growth. Liz, John, and Brian are uniquely positioned to help us scale to meet market demand for next-generation EV charging, and I look forward to working with each of them as we continue to deliver unparalleled value and service to our customers and partners.”
Howard brings more than two decades of experience leading high-performance finance teams at technology companies and investment firms. She joins EVPassport from Bevi, where she was Senior Vice President of Finance, overseeing the finance, legal, and enterprise technology functions. Before that, Howard managed financial operations at MorphoSys and served as Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Cambridge Associates. “The business trajectory of EVPassport made this role a truly compelling opportunity,” said Howard. “I was drawn to the team’s diverse experience, the deep relationships it has forged with its customers and partners, and the company-wide commitment to executing on a unified vision. I am excited to be working with Hooman and a talented leadership team as we scale the business.”
Gilbrook joins EVPassport after a decade at ChargePoint, where he was Vice President of North American Commercial Sales, and responsible for leading its sales strategy, overseeing the commercial team, and enhancing customer value in the U.S. and Canada. “I’ve long admired the work EVPassport is doing to provide the most reliable EV chargers on the market,” said Gilbrook. “The company is at the forefront of the emerging Infrastructure-as-a-Service business model that creates a win-win for both asset holders and their constituents. I’m thrilled to join EVPassport during a period of transformational growth as we continue to drive growth opportunities for our customers and partners.”
As Vice President of Channel Partnerships and Alliances, McKinnon is tasked with establishing EVPassport’s channel strategy and scaling its partner ecosystem. With a proven track record of sales leadership within the channel, the former ChargePoint executive was instrumental in expanding the company’s channel program to include leading auto partnerships, global electrical distributors, and e-commerce channels. “I am passionate about helping world-class partners deliver long-term sustainable value," said McKinnon. "It’s exciting for me that EVPassport is aligning its partner program with the same passion. Channel partners will play a pivotal role in EVPassport's overall success as the company continues to expand."
