Bradley J. Kolwyck, PhD, Superintendent of Schools, Scott County R-IV School District remarked, “Over the past two years, and more recently, schools nationwide (and here locally) have experienced security challenges. We have worked extremely hard to install many safety products, processes, and systems to protect our students, staff, and community. The generous donation from Arevon, combined with a private contribution, will add one more layer of protection. We are also grateful for the contributions to the other programs that will allow our school district to advance our superlative education offerings.”

In addition to the aforementioned contributions, and as part of Arevon’s commitment to the region for hosting its Kelso Solar Project, Arevon also donated iPads to the school district and has contributed to other deserving organizations. Over the last several years, Arevon has:

“Making meaningful impacts within the local region is a top priority for each of Arevon’s renewable energy projects, and we are proud to support to the safety, education, and well-being of Scott County students, families, and first responders,” said Trish Evans, Senior Director of Community Relations at Arevon. “We look forward to continuing to contribute to purposeful initiatives and organizations within Scott County and the surrounding area and being an active member of the community for many years to come.”

Arevon developed and will construct and operate the Kelso Solar Project, which is the company’s first utility-scale renewable energy project in Missouri. Kelso Solar will generate a host of economic benefits in Scott County and surrounding parts including the creation of an estimated 450 jobs during peak construction to build the project. This surge in activity will positively contribute to the local economy with increased spending at area stores, hotels, and restaurants. When operational, Kelso Solar will disburse more than $34 million in taxes for use by local governments over its multi-decade lifespan, which will support schools, infrastructure, and vital services.
