Catalyze Acquires 48 MW of New York Community Solar Projects from hep solar
Catalyze, a fully integrated developer and Independent Power Producer (IPP) of distributed renewable energy assets, announced the acquisition of 48 megawatts (MWdc) of fully developed community solar projects in New York from hep solar, a globally operating German solar development and investment group.
The portfolio consists of eight projects located within National Grid’s Load Zone A in upstate New York. The projects are fully developed and nearing construction readiness, with commercial operation in 2026. Once online, the projects will contribute to New York’s ambitious clean energy goals and deliver the benefits of community solar to local residents.
“These projects represent a significant step forward in our mission to expand access to renewable energy in New York,” said Jared Haines, CEO of Catalyze. “Community solar empowers residents – including renters and those without access to rooftop solar – to participate in and benefit from the clean energy transition. We’re excited to build on our momentum in New York and bring these impactful projects to life.”
The eight projects acquired include:
- Ashville, NY – 2 projects totaling 11.78 MWdc
- Corfu, NY – 2 projects totaling 13.32 MWdc
- Brockport, NY – 5.96 MWdc
- Portland, NY – 2 projects totaling 10.41 MWdc
- Dunkirk, NY – 6.24 MWdc
All projects are expected to participate in NYSERDA’s NY-Sun MW Block Program, which provides financial incentives for the development of solar projects across the state. Once operational, the portfolio will generate clean energy for thousands of residents, reducing energy costs while supporting energy equity and grid resilience.
“We’re proud to contribute to New York’s clean energy supply through our US project development. This transaction shows on the one hand the value created by hep solar and on the other hand ensures the successful delivery of these community solar projects by a strong and experienced partner like Catalyze,” said Georg von Eichendorff Strachwitz, Executive Board Member of hep solar. “At hep solar, we’re focused on developing and investing in renewable energy projects that create meaningful impact, and Catalyze shares that vision. We look forward to seeing these projects support local communities and contribute to New York’s clean energy future.”
This acquisition reinforces Catalyze’s strategic growth in New York and its commitment to accelerating the deployment of community solar nationwide. An ongoing relationship with hep solar is under consideration as both companies explore future opportunities for collaboration.
